Frequently Asked Questions for Swim Lessons

  • We offer swim lessons for all ages—infants, children, adults, and seniors. There’s no age limit to what you can achieve in the water. Our programs are customized to each swimmer’s level, from building water confidence and developing strokes to refining technique and supporting water-based fitness or rehabilitation.

  • Most lessons are 30 minutes, which is ideal for attention span and skill retention. Private lessons for infants to young children are 20 minutes. Semi-private or small group lessons are 30 minutes in length. If you are interested in longer lessons, please discuss with us for options.

  • In the near future, we will use a structured skill progression system so parents can see what skills their child is working on and which milestones they’ve achieved. Optional short video demos will be shared under resources so you can practice at home.

  • We work closely with each child’s unique needs and can adjust lessons, pacing, and approach to ensure a positive experience.

  • Simply fill out the Swim Lessons Inquiry Form, and we’ll follow up to find the best class and schedule for your child.

  • It depends on the child's age, consistency in lessons, and fear level.

    Key Factors Affecting Speed

    • Consistency: Weekly, year-round lessons are far more effective than summer-only, sporadic lessons.

    • Practice: Reinforcing skills outside of lessons (e.g., family pool trips) significantly speeds up progress.

    • Fear/Anxiety: A child hesitant about getting their face wet or ears submerged will take longer, as building trust must happen first.

    • Type of Lessons: Private lessons generally yield faster results (sometimes in just a few weeks) compared to group lessons.

It’s a journey, not a race. With consistent, year-round lessons, you can expect your child to be comfortable and safe in the water at their own pace.
